I’m originally from County Fermanagh on the far west of Northern Ireland, but I’ve lived in Edinburgh for many years.

My work appears in collections throughout the UK, Ireland and further afield, most famously that of the comedian Michael McIntyre.

My paintings have been shown in both solo and group exhibitions, including those of the Royal Scottish Academy (RSA), the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW) and the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours (RI).

In 2024, I was pleased to be awarded  the DEBRA MANIFOLD PRIZE at the RI’s annual exhibition in the Mall Galleries in London – this was for the “most innovative use of the medium”.

I was also awarded the HIGHER BRIDGES PRIZE, a residency at the inspirational Tyrone Guthrie Centre in Ireland. Here, artists from all disciplines work alongside each other, enabling a rich cross-fertilization of ideas as well as giving the time and space to think and create.

Please read my latest newsletter to find out about my art news. I try to send them out around four times a year, so if you sign up to subscribe I promise you won’t be bombarded with emails.

If you have any queries about my work or exhibitions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via the email or social media links on this site.

Thanks, Alison
